Please note – these programs are designed for children ages 9-11 (No exceptions permitted).

July
- Monday, July 6 th – Paper Airplane Zone
4-5 p.m. All ages welcome. Learn how to create paper airplanes and compete for your plane to fly the farthest.
- Monday, July 6 th – Read & Create Series
7:00-8:30 p.m. Tonight we’ll read “The Wishing Tree” by Roseanne Thong. Ming and his grandmother observe the tradition of writing a wish on a slip of paper, tying the paper to an orange and tossing the orange into a wishing tree in their small village in Hong Kong. After reading this touching story, we will make our own wishing trees. Space is limited and registration is required.
- Tuesday, July 7 th – WiiVent
3-4 p.m. Come and play a wide variety of Wii games with your friends on the big screen. Ages 9-11. Registration required.
- Monday, July 13 th – Read & Create Series
7:00-8:30 p.m. Tonight we’ll read “Katie Meets the Impressionists” by James Mayhew. When Katie and her grandmother visit an art museum, Katie is magically transported into some of the paintings by Monet, Renoir and Degas. After reading the story we will make our own impressionistic piece of art using markers and water. Dress for mess! Space is limited and registration is required.

- Tuesday, July 14 th – Hemp Cord Jewelry Making
6:30-7:30 p.m. Make your own special necklace and bracelet to keep. Registration is required.

4:00-5:30 p.m. Have fun acting with your friends. Registration is required.

- Tuesday, July 21 st – Brown Bag Book Talk
Registration begins June 29 th. 6:30-7:30 p.m. Receive a free copy of the book “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules” by Jeff Kinney. Return to the library today with a packed dinner, ready to talk about the book and win prizes.
- Wednesday, July 22 nd – Boys vs. Girls Mariokart Tournament
5:45pm – 8pm Take on your brother or sister! Registration Required. Ages 9 and up.
- Saturday, July 25 th – Junk Art Collage
11:00-12:30 p.m. Turn trash and unwanted junk into a work of art. We’ll make a 12x12 sized art piece which will be suitable for hanging on your wall. Hardware, wire, bottle caps and more will be available for creations. Dress for mess! Space is limited and registration is required.
- Monday, July 27 th – Read & Create Series
7:00-8:30 p.m. Tonight we’ll read “Aliens are Coming!” by Megan McCarthy. This fun book tells the true account of the 1938 War of the Worlds radio broadcast. After the story we will make our own water bottle aliens. Dress for mess! Space is limited and registration is required.

6:30-7:30 p.m. Make your own earrings to keep. Registration is required.

August
- Saturday, August 1 st – Funky Flowers
11-12:30 p.m. Registration is required. Make huge tissue paper flowers and a vase to keep or give away.
- Monday, August 3 rd – Read & Create Series
7:00-8:30 p.m. Tonight we’ll read “Toy Boat” by Randall de Seve. This story is about a boy and his toy boat. After they become separated, the boat has some wild adventures on the high seas. After the story we will create our own milk carton boats. Dress for mess! Space is limited and registration is required.
- Tuesday, August 4 th – Video Game Club
12 noon – 2 p.m. Registration required
- Friday, August 7 th – Video Game Tournament
3-6 p.m. Registration is required. Compete with your friends for prizes. Show off your wicked gaming skills. Will it be Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart or something even more amazing?
- Monday, August 10 th – Flash Fiction 500
1-3 p.m. Registration required. Learn how to write your own story at this two day session.
- Monday, August 10 th – Read & Create Series
7:00-8:30 p.m. Tonight we’ll read “Sock Monkey Rides Again” by Cece Bell. Sock Monkey, the famous toy actor, is offered the role of a lifetime in a singing cowboy movie. After the story we will make our own paper sock monkeys. Bring your sock monkey friend along to join in the fun! Space is limited and registration is required.
- Tuesday, August 11 th – Flash Fiction 500
1-3 p.m. Registration required. Learn how to write your own story at this two day session.
- Thursday, August 13 th –Glitter Flowers For Your Hair
12:00-1:00 p.m. Make your own barrettes and pony tail holders to keep. Registration is required.
- Saturday, August 15 th – Shipwrecked Saturday
10:30-12 noon. The good ship PPL has become stranded on a desert island which is overrun by pirates. We’ll need to chart a course and find our way home. We’ll make a real treasure map, read a pirate story and make a few other pirate goodies along the way. Weigh anchor and hoist mizzen! Space is limited and registration is required.
