Friends of the Library

Who are the Friends?

We are a not-for-profit organization comprised of men and women who believe in and support literacy throughout our Pottstown Community.

What we do:

  • We strive to raise public awareness of the library services and its collection.
  • We encourage volunteerism through support of time, talent, and/or financial contributions.
  • Through our membership drives, gently used book sales, fundraisers and business sponsored programs, we are able to reach out to the community and share the resources the library has to offer to both children and adults alike.
  • We are successful in sponsoring programs throughout the library as well as purchase new books, audio equipment, and other materials that are so desperately needed for our growing community.
How to become a member:
Complete a membership form and submit with tax-deductible donation at the circulation desk. We are always looking for interested individuals to help out with book sales, fundraising, publicity, phone calls, mailings, and new membership processing.

  • The ability to purchase new and up-to-date books, videos, and CDs for children, young adults, and adults.
  • Purchase new audio equipment.
  • Special events featuring topic-related activities for children.
  • An annual scholarship awarded to a high school student who displays and demonstrates their support towards literacy.
